Happy New Year!
It's hard to believe that this picture was taken on our China climbing trip about a year ago. We spent Christmas in Shigu and New Year in Liming, climbing the most delicious sandstone cracks. It's on New Year's Day in Liming that the idea for CHALK REBELS finally gelled. Initially, it was more like "Let's do something with climbing? Maybe build a climbing gym? Maybe make some holds? Maybe give this skincare thing a go?"
Turns out that "doing the skincare thing" took about a year. And what a year it's been! I remember getting on the phone with cosmetics manufacturers as soon as my plane's wheels hit the tarmac back in Europe. It's now one year later and the work hasn't stopped. Instead of one skincare product, we managed to create four. I credit keeping my sanity in this crazy year to the creative distraction CHALK REBELS gave me.
It's about 8am on New Year's Day as I'm writing this. The hangover is real, but manageable. I want to spend the day like I did one year ago. I think it's time to head out and climb because life simply is better when you can spend New Year's Day climbing with the one you love.
