Climbing in the Paris 2024 Olympics

Sport Climbing kicks off at the Olympics in Paris on August 5th. What you'll get is 6 days of insane climbing moves in three disciplines: Speed, Lead & Boulder. With boulder & lead being a single combined event. In Tokyo the three events were a single combined form with only a single set of gold, silver & bronze medals for the whole climbing world.

Good news though: in the 2028 Olympics, we'll see climbing split into three distinct disciplines: lead, boulder, and speed. Unlike the combined format used in Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024, each event will finally stand alone in 2028!

It’s a shame that our paraclimbing friends won’t get to compete in the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris. However, we can't wait to see climbing make its debut at the 2028 Paralympic Games in Los Angeles. The International Paralympic Committee has approved Para climbing for LA28!

The Olympics climbing events start on August 5 with the Men’s Boulder & Lead Semifinal Boulder at 10:00 and Women’s Speed Qualification at 13:00. On August 7, the Women’s Speed finals, including the Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and Final with medals, start at 12:35. The Men’s Speed finals on August 8 also begin at 12:35.

The Men’s Boulder & Lead finals are on August 9, with the Final Boulder at 10:15 and Final Lead with medals at 12:35. The Women’s Boulder & Lead finals follow on August 10, starting at 10:15 and concluding with medals at 12:35.
