Field-testing our products is important. Fontainebleau, with its world-renowned sandstone boulders, offers the perfect setting for this. While our team can’t always make it to this climbing mecca as often as we’d like, we’re fortunate to have local climbers who can put our products through their paces.

We’re thrilled to have Font locals like Filip Notebaert, Christophe Laumone, and Zofia Reych, helping us refine our products. Zofia was kind enough to mention us in a blog post reviewing gear for Fontainebleau locals, published by Vertebrate, who also published her book Born To Climb.

Testing our products on Fontainebleau’s unique sandstone allows us to understand how different types of chalk, especially our advanced products like Crystal Chalk, perform outdoors. The feedback we’ve received has been incredibly valuable, particularly for Crystal Chalk, which has garnered rave reviews with insiders. We’re currently working on a refreshed version of this product, which we’re planning to test more rigorously during the winter months before its release.

Zofia is also organising the Women's Bouldering Festival again this year, held from September 13-15 this year in Fontainebleau. Founded in 2018, this non-profit event is dedicated to bridging the mentorship gap in climbing and serving underrepresented groups. The festival’s mission aligns closely with our values at Chalk Rebels, as it seeks to empower individuals and promote social equity and environmentalism in the climbing community.

The Women’s Bouldering Festival is not just about climbing; it’s about fostering a community that supports and uplifts each other, while also promoting sustainable climbing practices. We’re proud to support this event and the incredible work it does in the climbing world.
