Ambassador Program
Over the last 2 years we’ve tried to build up some kind of brand ambassador program. It’s been a learning journey. And a bit bumpy.
Some things can’t be launched, they need to grow. That’s what we’ve learned over the last 2 years trying to establish the CHALK REBELS brand through sponsorships and support. We tried lots of things. Most of them didn’t work. And that’s fine. Over time we’ll learn what works and what doesn’t. We’ll grow into this sponsorship thing.
We’ve been very happy with the results for our brand whenever we supported causes and events with a clear mission. I’m thinking of our sponsorship of the Sustainable Bouldering Festival and Women’s Bouldering Festival in particular. So we’ll continue doing that. We’ve also had good experiences supporting local competitions and events. The truth is that the best way to get the word out about our brand is to simply get the products in people’s hands. Let the products speak for themselves. They’re that good. And local events are great opportunities to do just that.
But whenever we tried more transactional approaches we failed, hard. Think coupon codes, affiliate deals, paid posts, paid influencers. None of that has lasting value, so we’ll stop doing that.
Instead we’re doubling down on a softer, more long-term approach to building out our brand ambassador program. We’re going to continue working with amazing climbers like Tiba, Christiane, Filip, Calum, and the many people who spontaneously joined us in spreading the word about CHALK REBELS.
And we’re inviting you to join the club. We are looking for climbers who are not only passionate about the sport but also genuinely care for the environment and can help us spread our message: LESS CHALK, MORE GRIP!
