Crystal Chalk Discontinued - For Now

Our Crystal Chalk is going out of stock soon, and we won't be bringing it back until 2025. If you've ever struggled with sweaty hands while climbing, you probably know that Crystal Chalk was designed to help with exactly that. Unlike regular chalk, it’s an anti-perspirant that prevents sweat from forming, rather than absorbing it. However, when we first introduced Crystal Chalk, we made some big mistakes, especially with how we explained its use.

The truth is, we didn’t clearly communicate that Crystal Chalk is different from regular chalk or liquid chalk. While many climbers loved it, others had a bad experience because they used it incorrectly—applying it like they would with standard chalk. Crystal Chalk is part of a different category: anti-perspirants. These products take time to work and need to be applied 10 to 15 minutes before your climbing session starts, ideally before you even warm up. The effect is long-lasting but slow to start. It forms a barrier that stops sweat from forming, but it doesn’t absorb sweat that's already there, which is why using it mid-session won’t give the best results.

After realizing this mistake, we tested new instructions with climbers, and the response was much more positive. When used correctly, Crystal Chalk can keep your hands dry for about two hours, reducing or even eliminating the need for regular chalk.

Because of all this, we’ve decided to take a step back and relaunch Crystal Chalk in 2025 with new packaging, updated branding, and clearer instructions. We learned a lot from our first launch and want to make sure we get it right this time.

If you’ve been a fan of Crystal Chalk, now’s the time to stock up before it’s gone! We’re excited to bring you a better version of this product in 2025, but for now, we’ll be focusing all of 2024 on our core chalk products.
