Chalk Rebels is a member of 1% For The Planet

Chalk Rebels contributes 1% of revenue to environmental charities through the 1% for the Planet program. We chose to contribute our 1% by guaranteeing that for every product sold one tree gets planted.

Since its inception in 2002, 1% for the Planet has helped to direct hundreds of millions of dollars to environmental nonprofits around the world. 1% for the Planet is a network of like-minded individuals, businesses, donors, and nonprofit organizations working together toward a common goal: protecting the future of our planet.

Chalk Rebels is a proud member of 1% for the Planet together with companies like Patagonia and Clean Kanteen. The 1% for the Planet seal indicates that a business donates 1% of its annual sales to environmental nonprofits. Every time you buy a product with a 1% for the Planet logo, a portion of your purchase goes back to our planet. We are proud to sport that 1% for the Planet seal on all of our products.

Practically this means that every year we at Chalk Rebels report our revenue to 1% for the Planet. We then work together with one of the 1% for the Planet nonprofit partners to donate 1% of our revenue to the planet.

The first nonprofit partner we chose to work with is One Tree Planted. We actually go beyond our 1% because we guarantee that for every product sold we will contribute a tree. And our first trees have been planted!

The 1% for the Planet environmental nonprofit partners work to advocate, conserve, steward, educate, and activate to create a healthy, vibrant future for our planet. 1% for the Planet approved nonprofit partners are carefully vetted environmental organizations that are eligible to receive funding from members like Chalk Rebels.

We chose to contribute to 1% for the Planet because it is the easiest way to have short-term, direct impact on environmental issues.

Every time you buy a product from Chalk Rebels, you’re helping to create a healthier planet!

The Bottom Line: Use Less Chalk. Do Good.
